The District held the official Groundbreaking Ceremony for William Walker Elementary School on September 15, 2018. William Walker was the third of four schools to be replaced as part of the District's $680-million construction bond approved by voters in May 2014. Opened in Fall 2019, the school is 87,200 square feet in size and has capacity for 750 students.
The District worked closely with DLR Group Architects on the design of the facility, as well as with the City of Beaverton on a site plan that meets the city's development requirements. The District used same design at Hazeldale, Vose and Sato Elementaries as a cost-savings measure.
